• Art Ortiz

    OWNER & HEAD TRAINER

Ten years ago, Art was at a crossroads in his life, navigating changes in both his career and relationships. The steady constants through it all were his three dogs, Emma, Hiro, and Frankie. These three little souls demanded more from him and motivated him to manifest balance and harmony in his own life. DogFit Dallas grew from a pack walk business and quickly morphed into one centered on dog training.

Since its inception in 2012, DogFit Dallas has worked with thousands of dogs and their owners, helping them to have a better understanding of each other. We have created meaningful experiences that transform relationships between humans and their dogs all over the world. We don’t just train dogs; we empower humans to improve their relationships with themselves and teach them how we reflect our energy and intentions onto our dogs.

Art has worked with countless world-renowned trainers including Cesar Millan, Linn Boyke, Cheri Lucas, Brian Agnew, Marc Goldberg, and Colleen Steckloff-Aguilera. He has shaped his craft to become a respected leader within the dog training community. He serves as a Trainer for Training Cesar’s Way Fundamentals I and II, traveling to California several times a year to train and mentor dog professionals from all over the world. He has been featured in D Magazine, Central Track, and has been a featured guest on various podcasts and at speaking events.

  • Anne Ortiz

    CO-OWNER & TRAINER

Anne's career as a dog trainer began at an early age, as she spent her childhood assisting her mom, who was a hobby dog trainer in Germany. Since becoming a mom to two beautiful boys, Anne’s favorite dogs to work with have been puppies as well as the shy/fearful/feral dogs. She understands that these dogs in particular require a lot of patience and a very gentle approach that often mimics parenting.

Anne continues to learn from other trainers and has studied under several renowned dog trainers including Cheri Lucas, Brian Agnew, Cesar Millan, and Linn Boyke.

When working with Anne, you will probably hear her talk about how we, the humans, must take care of ourselves in order to show up for others, including our dogs. She is a big advocate of taking care of our body, mind, and spirit, and loves yoga, meditation and regular chiropractic care.

  • Betsy Gunter

    TRAINER

Betsy began her career training dogs in 2013 when she adopted her rescue dog Opie who had many behavioral issues. Betsy was determined to help Opie become a more balanced dog and sought the help and guidance of world-renowned dog behaviorist Cheri Lucas who she mentored under over the years through private shadow programs and various workshops. Betsy has since grown as a trainer and now assists Cheri with her workshops training other trainers, as well as dog owners in California.

Over the years Betsy has helped many dogs and their owners create happy, healthy relationships and achieve their training goals. She enjoys working with challenging cases and really believes that every dog and owner have their own unique set of circumstances and tailors the training to their individual needs and goals.

She has a heart for rescue and really enjoys setting up owners for success and keeping dogs in their homes. During her time in LA, she worked with many different rescue organizations and various programs helping to educate the public including Forte Animal Rescue, Frankie Lola and Friends, and Paws for Life Prison Program.
